The Dark Half

by Stephen King

Review by James R.Cain

With echoes of Misery, The Dark Half  takes us into the world of Thad Beaumont.  Thad's a writer of who's successful under the pseudonym of George Stark writing violent crime fiction.  Trouble starts when Thad decides to put George to death, and the fictional sinister persona comes back from the grave to wreak a terrible vengeance of his own.

And try and force Thad in taking up the pen and bring George Stark back from the dead.

I found this to be solid King.  It's not bad King, not great King, but solid King.  The ending was nothing short of weird.  What I found most interesting was King's mythology of the writer and the creative process at work in Thad Beaumont.  It was a suspenseful book that won't be a disappointment to his fans.
