Whisper of Evil

 By Kay Hooper

 Review by Nicola Lenton

'Whisper of Evil' is from Kay Hooper's "the Bishop Special Crimes Unit Series" which also includes the books 'Sense of Evil' and 'Touching Evil'.

The little town of Silence was anything but silent.  Secrets were everywhere, in every household.  Men are being killed - respected members of the community - and their twisted secrets revealed.  Then Nell Gallagher comes home to settle her father's estate and to put the past behind her.  She is a psychic belonging to a special unit with the FBI and has secrets of her own.  She finds more than she thought she would find in Silence though.  She gets caught up investigating the murders, and as she does, something is tapping into her subconscious.  Then she runs into her old lover who is still very much interested in her and wants to keep her safe.

The book was a great read and you feel the people in it. Small towns all have secrets and sometimes everyone knows them and sometimes they have no idea what is just lurking beneath the surface.
